After Yaya Toure’s recent move in July of this year from Barcelona to Manchester City, he expressed his desire this week to return to Spain.  In an interview with Radio Catalunya he said,  “I will be back in Barcelona to play, not as a tourist. I want to return to Barcelona, because to leave was the hardest moment of my life”.

The 27 year old Ivory Coast international player stated in a previous interview in January of 2009, “…I love Barcelona. It is the best club in the world…I want to finish my career here and show everyone that this club means a lot to me…”.

Yaya Toure began his career in Europe in Belgium and then moved across the continent to the Ukraine, Greece, Monaco, Spain and now the UK.  He told Radio Catalunya, “…what I want are games, not sitting on the bench. I won everything there [Barcelona] and needed other challenges”.

“For me, Manchester City is a very nice challenge. This is a team that is not playing in the Champions League, and that has not won any titles recently. Therefore, they are perfect for me.”
