Angola Foreign Minister denounces armed intervention in Africa

Addis Ababa – Angola’s Foreign Affairs Minister, George Chikoty, said on Thursday in Addis Ababa that Africa is marked by the armed intervention and strong political policies of the western powers in the resolution of its internal matters.
Minister Georges Chikoty said so, while addressing the Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), which started on Wednesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The official pointed out as examples the situations in Cote d’Ivoire and Libya, reminding that UN authorised the military interventions in these countries, aiming for the protection of local populations.
Speaking before 13 heads of state and 24 of Governments, the diplomat said that the UN Security Council is tending to adopt partial position in some conflicts.
