HANNOVER LAND IVORIAN STRIKER

Hannover have completed the signing of Ivory Coast forward Didier Konan Ya from Norwegian side Rosenborg.

The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga outfit, having spent just under three years with Rosenborg.

Hannover's sporting director Jorg Schmadtke told the club's official website: "We've signed him reinforce our frontline.

"He's extremely quick and a decent finisher."

Meanwhile, former Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins is looking forward to the challenge of proving himself in Germany, having recently joined champions Wolfsburg.

The 24-year-old Nigeria international told BBC Sport: "This is a great chance for me to get my career back on track.

"A lot of people said I should have stayed in England, but my decision was purely on professional grounds and had nothing to do with financial sentiments.

"Once I spoke to Wolfsburg, I saw a fresh start."
